The Emerging Artist Grant was created for Wisconsin artists with little to no experience in the professional art scene. Each year, WAAC works closely with the grant recipient(s) to provide them with funds for booth fees, equipment, and business insight as they establish themselves.

About the Grant:

The Emerging Artist Grant was created to help new artists cross the bridge between hobby and profession. It provides artists with materials and supplies to display their work, a sponsored spot in one of our shows, and support. The goal of the grant is to help emerging artists present themselves with confidence and gain experience selling and exhibiting their work.

Artist Qualifications

  • Artist must have less than 2 years of experience in a professional art environment

  • Artist must apply and be juried into AFOS/WAFOS

  • Artist must be a WI resident

  • Artist must be 18 years or older

  • Artist must be able to participate in either AFOS/WAFOS (or both)

  • Artist must show dedication to their craft

  • Artist must complete grant application form and submit it before deadline

Grant Deadline

  • All submissions must be received by April 15th

  • Any incomplete submissions will not be considered

  • Final candidates will be required to complete a phone interview to ensure qualification

Notification

  • Selected artist(s) will be notified by May 1st 2025
